The Arcane Ledger - Hardwood Dungeon Master Screen
The Arcane Ledger - Hardwood Dungeon Master Screen
The Arcane Ledger is something I knew that after making the first prototype, was going to be an object I spent my life making version after version of; to serve as Centerpiece, tool, backdrop and fortress all at once. An extension of the DM and a place where one feels so comfortable that the boundary between muse and storyteller disappears. - Thomas on Creating his first signature DM Screen
The Arcane Ledger is made as the most accessible and affordable version of Thomas’s early signature DM Screens. Rooted in the belief that story telling is a shared human act, the Arcane Ledger was made with broad appeal, universal features, and classical theme’ing that shows up in Fantasy and Adventure stories again and again.
The Screens are composed of 3 or 4 panels, each measuring 11 inches high by 13.25 inches wide, with 3/8ths steel rods serving as pivot points for the screens to fold or adjust without having restrictive hardware added to the profile. Each screen features a standardized set of magnets in the back that serve as anchor points for notes, accessories and acrylic panels that help keep the DM or GM organized, and ready for whatever the narrative needs. Think of it as plot armor for your Game Master.
They are heavy, however, that serves to make sure the screens themselves resist warping and stand up to the test of time and many long play sessions without issue. There’s little concern of them falling over without grievous interference, and the panels are made to be modular and have beautiful artistic designs that can be rearranged to accommodate the tastes of both players and DM.
Each Screen-Theme has been Illustrated by a different artist, each a close personal friend or colleague who’s style resonated with Thomas when he thought of different aspects or tropes present in Fantasy storytelling
Honey Potts Art - Gothic Castle
Taruht - Adventure’s Respite
Dwarvish Arsenal - Artist Wished to be Uncredited
Elvish Ruins - Xela Art
Each Screen, no matter the choice of finish, engraving, or inlay, comes with:
10 Steel half inch ball bearings to serve as note holders
2×2 Small Acrylic “Note”/Accessory Pass Through Panel
3×2 Large Acrylic Note and Pass Through Panel
3/8ths Steel rods to connect the panels
Thomas also makes the offer to any owner of the screens themselves, that he will provide template tools and information on how to “Home Brew” accessories for the screens, because he knows that every person may want a different capacity with their screen. Each Screen comes with the ability to have the blueprints and standards Thomas uses to design accessories handed over to boutique Makers and companies so you’re never locked to the Tusano Ecosystem when it comes to choice of compatible accessories.
Just ask! And Thomas will tell you what your chosen artisan needs to create for The Ledger screen systems. Storytelling, and therefore the tools we use for it should never be shuttered or gate kept away from the masses. And so the Ledger serves as Thomas holding to that standard while making the best DM screens he possibly can.
(A Note from Thomas:
Arcane Ledgers are normally made as either “In Stock” Items or through a combination of “off the shelf” options, Their “Older Siblings”, the Pact-Bound Tome and the Illuminated Scripture, are Custom offerings ONLY, because while I love making these screens, I can’t customize each and every one to every details, but I will promise that they’ll always be the best I can make them in whatever circumstance I’m operating under)
Disclaimer on Wood, as a Material:
Wood is a natural material, as such, our Handmade Wood Products, may arrived with slight variations of striping, grain orientation, or figuring of wood. Because it would be infeasible to photograph every piece, we do our best with each piece to bring out it’s natural beauty, and make sure it’s something that we’d be proud to own and display.
When Traveling with your Wooden DM Screens or Cutting Boards, please be conscious of TSA and other various laws and customs regulations. Some woods can be either limited, restricted or taxed when crossing international borders, or be limited to checked bags due to TSA Regulations.
If you’d like something made to exact specification, please reach out to Thomas directly, or through the website, otherwise know that our products will vary in patterning from piece to piece, and it is not something we can always help. We sure wish we could command the trees like that!
If you have requests or considerations, please reach out before making your order, and we’ll do our best to set aside or search for the piece you’d love to own.
Any of our Dice trays, wooden kitchen and tavern wares are not dishwasher safe and will require handwashing or careful care through the years.
The Tusano Reasonability Lifetime Guarantee
“Any Product purchased where there has been an error or defect in workmanship, will be made whole to reasonable expectation with compassion for both customer and craftsperson, for as long as possible to correct dissatisfaction, unhappiness, wronged expectation, or longevity of product which may be solved by reasonable and gracious effort, so long as it doesn’t also bankrupt Thomas to do so.”
